The Powerhand EX Series is the ultimate heavy duty forestry biomass grapple for installation on an excavator or large crane.
The design has been optimised for tasks such as feeding chippers, handling brash while clearing sites, log handling and general forestry work.
Designed for use on excavators from 13 tonnes to 25 tonnes, the EX Series is ideal for rigid excavator mounting both direct via a tilt rotator or rigid rotator assembly. Also available for swing link mounting. The grapple legs feature five solid 50mm Hardox tines to excel in this demanding application.
The Powerhand Grapple Saw is available in three models for excavators from 8 to 30 tonnes, with unit weights ranging from 165 kg to 254 kg and a jaw opening of 1,410 mm.
The grapple saw can be fitted with either 0.404″ or 3/4″ pitch harvester chain saw cassettes for optimized cutting performance.
Swinging applications use Indexator GC124S rotators, while rigid installations use the XR400 rotator, both offering 360° continuous rotation and internally routed hoses.
The unit requires only one hydraulic flow and return service, with automatic chain tensioning, lubrication, and bar return functions built in.
It is ideal for forestry site clearance, cross-cutting oversized timber, and handling windblown areas with precision and efficiency.

The PFIMX wood grapple is designed with a lightweight yet durable structure for efficient handling of timber of all sizes. Suitable for excavators, backhoe loaders, telescopic handlers, and tractors, it offers strong gripping capability while maintaining excellent manoeuvrability. Its design makes it ideal for forestry operations, log transport, sawmill work, and general timber handling.
Two tip configurations are available to match different working conditions. The OPEN version provides maximum versatility when dealing with irregular or uneven logs, as well as when operating in tight or confined spaces where precision is essential. The CLOSED version offers superior stability and safety when gripping large or heavy logs, making it ideal for loading, storage, and controlled movement.
The hydraulic system operates using a double-acting line, ensuring smooth opening and closing of the grapple for consistent performance. Safety is built in through an integrated block and relief valve on all models except the 1000R, protecting the system during heavy loads. The 1400HD, 1600HD, and 1800HD versions include additional lateral reinforcements along the claws and a double-box reinforcement frame for extra strength during demanding operations.
All PFIMX grapples can be supplied with a turnkey kit that includes a machine-specific mounting bracket and hose kit, ensuring fast installation and immediate use.
It is designed for gripping and handling logs of various sizes on excavators, backhoes, telescopic handlers, and tractors.
Open tips provide better manoeuvrability in tight spaces, while closed tips offer improved stability when handling large or heavy timber.
The PFIMX operates with a double-acting hydraulic line for smooth and reliable grapple movement.
Most models include an integrated block and relief valve, while HD versions feature reinforced claws for demanding forestry applications.
